that are on the outside looking in is quite an interesting one: Philadelphia 76ers, Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors, and Indiana Pacers (to name the true contenders).

I think we can assume that the 1-5 seeds are locks, and they are the Cavaliers, Magic, Celtics, Pistons, and Hawks. The Miami Heat should be pretty comfortable in that 6-spot as well, as long as Dwyane Wade remains healthy and continues playing at his customary all-world level. So it's those final two spots that will be up in the air.

With the MLB playoffs set to begin, there is a subtle difference in the air compared to start of any other postseason. In the NHL, fans can potentially look forward to a great Canadians/Bruins series that is not only exciting, but has a historical kick to it. Likewise basketball fans always have the chance to see if the Suns can finally get past the Spurs and football fans love seeing the rivalry of the Eagles Vs the City of Philadelphia when the Eagles so much as get tackled for a loss.

Seeing the theme here? Trading for Jermaine O'Neal is the ultimate statement move. The Raptors have been on the verge of being an elite team in the Eastern Conference, and while injuries remain a concern, O'Neal's rebounding and face up post game is a perfect compliment to the bruising Chris Bosh and the silky smooth Andrea Barnagni. Not only will this represent the biggest, most versatile front line in the whole sport, with three athletic 6'11 guys, but quite possibly the most formidable, health abiding. With Jose Calderon looking as a lock to re-sign, they are a Jason Richardson/Corey Maggette away from championship caliber...how Vince Carter must feel now.
