New Jersey has hit a bit of a lull the past couple of weeks, but they are coming off a win against the Memphis Grizzlies, a team not all that dissimilar from the Thunder. The Grizzlies are built around a young trio as well, that of O.J. Mayo, Rudy Gay, and Mike Conley Jr., though Conley has only recently made his presence felt.

inal two spots that will be up in the air.
The Nets should be able to retain one of the spots, if Devin Harris can stay on the court (he's been injured for a mini-stretch on two separate occasions) and Yi Jianlian can return from a broken finger on his shooting hand, and play effectively. Vince Carter has been pacing himself nicely this season, so I'm not as concerned about his injury history as I've been in past years. Still, I'll knock on wood.

, the Nets' offensive production likely won't taper off much because of a huge boost in the form of Devin Harris' return this week.
(3) New Jersey's team defense will probably improve in Yi's absence because, quite frankly, he's the worst defender in the starting lineup.

am in the NBA thus far this season, and that's in large part due to the efforts of Vince Carter and Devin Harris. Both members of the Nets' starting backcourt are amongst the league leaders in scoring, and their outstanding one-on-one offensive abilities make New Jersey a dangerous team down the stretch of close games. Most teams are lucky to have one legitimate "closer" -- so to speak -- and yet the Nets have two.
