ck (who?), the Cardinals have been winning games with smoke and mirrors this season.  But with Chris Carpenter back on the DL and the far superior Cubs and Brewers in front, St. Louis doesn't have a realistic shot at surging to the playoffs.  Tony LaRussa could win Manager of the Year, but the team isn't quite playoff-caliber.
