ns can say that? Every inning there’s a chance to see Vernon Wells making a webgem in center, Alex Rios gunning down runners at the plate and John freakin’ MacDonald do anything. I think I would pay to see that man empty his dishwasher.

Not the Blue Jays 18 million dollar man Vernon Wells, not homerun derby finalist Alex Rios, I found myself instead hoping that Jason Bay would lose a ball in the lights or Dustin Pedroia would miss a throw to first. I wasn’t pinning my hopes on the Blue Jays to winning, but rather that the Red Sox would lose it.

2) Alex Rios, RF, Toronto Blue Jays: After cranking 17 home runs before the All-Star break last year, it looks like the Home Run Derby may have negatively affected his swing--he has hit only 11 bombs in the nearly full season since. His 22 steals thus far are great, but far above his career average. If he starts to run less in the second half he will lose almost all his value.
