So what do you think about our chances this year? Do you agree that the aquisition of Santana helps to give much needed relief/rest to an overworked bullpen last year. And, what are the odds that Sanchez can reproduce his pitching from 2006, post shoulder surgery? My prediction is that we will in fact will the NL title this year and although I would love to be completely optomistic, I will have to wait and see who our opponent is to see if we win the fall classic, or just come close. Carlos Beltran seems to think that the METS are the team to beat, but I'm not so sure that this is the start of his being a team leader. It just dosn't seem to be his personality, and if his season is as meadocre as last year, then he won't be feeling like leading. I still think that role has to fall to Wagner or Delgado, who needs to have a specatcular year to make up for last year and to be able to renew his contract at years end. I think he will have a comeback season this year, maybe wishful thinking on my part, but he's not that old. Reyes is supposedly going to hold back on some of the dugout dancing and such this year, but I didn't really think it was that over the top last year. I think A-Rod's stance watching a homerun ball is much more obnoxious. Thank goodness he remained on the other side of town. His ego is just too much to handle, despite his productivity on the bases. I'd always be waiting for the next saga with him if he were a MET. Besides, Wright is very vocal about his desire to be a loife long MET and that just speaks volumes about his character and devotion to the team. Anyway, would love to hear your thoughts on the 2008 season.
