Working at Citifield as i do, puts me in a unique situation. I get to see the pulse of the team, and although i am a hospitality attendant, (merchandiser at Majestic team store) i see the team in a different light, or so i think. I look at these Mets and i think Carlos Delgado was a big loss to them. I was a big advocate for the signing of Manny Ramirez, and his violation of the drug policy makes the Wilpon's a genius for staying away, and Minaya a good GM for not pushing the signing. I think Mr. Minaya has done a fine job of putting a team together. Now that i have a closer look at the demographic of people that come to the games, and the guests that spend good money, the Mets are in need of a superstar that can sit up there with Santana. Fans and guests want a player they can relate to,
Continue reading "Working at CitiField"

As a transplanted Bostonian, Red Sox, and, in general, baseball fan, I found myself in and around the city of New York and became something of a Mets fan. This also led to following the best sports talk radio program in the world (IMHO) - Mike and the Mad Dog on the FAN. I hope that by continuing to listen to them (streaming) that I'll be able to make contributions to this blog.

All that said, it was a real shame what happened last September. A team with a lot of promise just dropped the ball down the stretch and got completely shut out of the playoffs. Randolph and his crew are resilient, though, and I think they'll bounce back. With Wright and Reyes there, the possibility that they'll be in the hunt this year looks good. Keep your fingers crossed for another good year out of Pedro.
