Santana, Delgado come through in clutch situation posted on 09/08/2008
After losing the first two games of the ever so very important three game series with the rival Phillies, Johan Santana stepped up to the challenge and shut down the powerful Phillies line-up. Carlos Delgado sparked the Mets line-up with his 32,33 home runs of the year. Delgado has been one of the hottest hitters in all of baseball sine the middle of June. He is batting 295, 22 HR and 63 RBI. He has come through time and time again when the Mets have needed it most. Santana gave the frequently used and under achieving Met bullpen a night off with the exception of Alaya with his new roll as closer.
